Ballet - the body of music

“Ballet - The Body of Music” is a photographic journey into the place where movement turns into sound.

Captured over years spent behind the curtain, on the stage, in cities, and in places that can hardly be described, the book opens a window into the heartbeat of ballet: the discipline, the exhaustion, and the brief, almost unreal brilliance of a moment that disappears the second it is born.

Among the dancers whose worlds I was allowed to enter are extraordinary artists such as Natascha Mair, one of Europe’s most captivating ballet personalities, a dancer whose clarity, presence, and emotional depth illuminate every frame, as well as Sergei Polunin, the youngest principal in the history of The Royal Ballet, a force of nature whose intensity and unpredictability have shaped contemporary ballet.

This book doesn’t chase polish or perfection.

It reveals the breath before the leap, the grit behind the elegance, the humanity that flickers between rehearsals.

It invites you to feel the rhythm under the dancers’ skin and to see ballet not only as choreography, but as music made visible.

If you love ballet, if you love art, or if you seek truth inside the blink of an eye, this book is your doorway into that world.

After the pre-order phase closes, there will be a short waiting period while we finalize all remaining details. No later than March 2026, the book will move into production. Once it reaches the printing house, we expect the editing and printing process to take around 1-3 weeks. If everything stays on schedule, we should be able to start shipping by the end of April, fittingly, right around International Dance Day.

After the pre-order, no additional costs apply, your order is fully covered (for deliveries within Europe). For the USA and the EMEA region, please contact us separately regarding shipping fees.

As a thank-you, the first 100 copies will be signed by the author and shipped to those who placed their orders earliest.

Important: The photographs currently published are only a small preview, a limited selection meant to show the visual direction of the project. The complete book will only be finalized and released once the minimum number of pre-orders has been reached, ensuring that production meets the quality this project deserves.
